Poem Number 16611
i saw once, in the cool Mojave dusk,
a lively little moth
of the most beautiful lavender.
She swirlled upon the air
like a small bit of colored paper
over the ancient wrinkled skin of twilight.
So insubstantial, she struggled long
to gain the earth against the rebound
of sun's last wink and flicker.
Then, where did he come from,
and how did he find her?
Was it arranged some many millions
of years ago,
that in this future time,
somewhere in a desert waste,
that they should make a dance,
for this heart would have need to see it?

Audee you are such a kind friend. i am glad you enjoyed this. i am thinking that the Mojave must be similar to parts of your Western Austrailia. How beautifully you and Alice describe your country. And then to think that there are women such as you to record it. thank you both...f

Manna my friend..you have defined it. The beautiful part is that you saw it, and seeing it, made it a part of yourself and then gave it back for me to see too.Jake
