Commentary:
i can't see you
over hills or through rain-
i can't see you
though your picture's clear.
i can't touch you
and leave my eyes open-
i can't touch you
without wondering
if you'll fall into my
easy chaos
and fall into my broken
rhythm;
wonder that
if i touch you
will senselessness emerge
and push you
onto the shore
of my stream of
consciousness and
further away from me.
even now i don't
know who you are-
who are you even now?
i can't hear you
without hearing my own past-
i can't hear you
and know casual stability.
i can't give you
when thought is all i have;
(have these thoughts and own all),
(freedom is located in the soul),
and all those words
that outline
the secret place of
breakdown, they're
right next door
right
next
door-
o but i can give you
fear wrapped in gold leaf
and i can give you
lovely songs tied with bows
of disbelief;
i can give you tension tinsel
shining from within,
can give you this ambiguous
feeling
disguised with human skin-
i can't see you
i can't touch you
i can't hear you
i can't give you
and i can't feel you
without feeling this.
