Poem Number 16533
-ABUSE-
---Melody
Commentary:
We have bickered
like vengeful Tybalts
all this evening
Slinging insults
like arrows at our egos
We never missed the target
~
You try to act the part
calm~collected
But the you go to
your secret fire
It burns behind a glass bottle
of shame
The amber sweetness
pouring into you
taking shape into something
unearthly~monsterous
loving you~comforting you
like I did before.....
~
When your "Amber Angel"
starts to work her charms
She bewitchs you
You run half crazy in the moonlight
Screaming my name
holding me down
You say "don't be afraid, I'll always love you baby"
It is a broken record to me
that plays over and over
I have learned to tune it out
~
And as I lie there
wishing I was a bird
that I could fly away
wishing I had listened to Mama
praying God would save me
~
I keep telling myself
This isn't T.V.
I won't be saved
~Melody~

-------
beautifully written.
i dont' know if it's too close to home (or what was once home)
but this is frightening.
