Poem Number 16508
there is a certain starvation

Commentary:
there is a certain starvation
benign to the flesh
succeeding absolutely
as absence of the breath
erodes the private portion
requisite to bliss
swallowing the voids
of lesser abstinence
slow but even surge
may take a sudden year
to emaciate the soul
its will to endure
-jeffh

A very sibilant and insidious poem. One is never sure of the infection until the worm is hatched. Love this Jeffh...fallon

"swallowing the voids"..."to emaciate the soul"...your words speak for themselves. Very good.

wonderful poetry Jeffh. What a dreadful thought.... to have one's "will" eroded and broken. ~ audee
