Poem Number 16258
Pioneer Sugar
---Chip Smith, Toledo, oh

Commentary:
I turned the radio up...at
your captious glare,
captivated that you
still could look so
beautiful even with
doubt written all
over your face.
-------
The blue-red sirens
dissipated from my
rear-view as you
reached over
and poked my side.
-------
I refused to return
your affection, privy
to government secrets
and a relentless
reluctance to relish
this moment.
-------
and as the Pioneer Sugar
silo came into view,
you exaggerated
your disgust at me
and I finally smiled.

-------
i like this, csmith...artful capturing of a moment. *grace
-------
seems like an intimate moment that you vividly retell in this writing...like it! m.e.
-------
truly a poetic moment :)
