blink, and before you know it
today's another tomorrow

blink
and before you know it
these days of innocence
will have taken flight
on fragile gossamer wings
of childhood days and time

turn
and smiling faces
with freckled cheeks
and trusting eyes
will have disappeared
behind surly grins of doubt

sleep
and daddys little girl
and chips off the old block
will be teens, then adults
giving back to you all
that you gave to them

think
will your reward
be uncondtional love
true heartfelt devotion
or broken promises
and shattered dreams
`
give
the seed of love
in time and lessons taught
listen with your heart
sharing dreams of today
will become promises tomorrow
