Poem Number 15499
Personal Fable
Commentary:
Tripped over the Bottle
that's slowly destroyed
your life, your body,
your Hopes.
As I peer into it,
dark brown, swirling
with hidden
evil that you see as strength,
I fight back tears of what
you once were, of what you
had become.
In this Bottle, your
dreams were tapped out
before you ever had a chance
to take the chances to achieve
them,
this Bottle your friend.
Many times I wrestled
it away from you, but now,
but now you've dropped it.
So much of life has been
spent defending this Bottle
that somewhere along the way
you stopped defending just
yourself, always boastful yet
lost.
Inside of this Bottle,
a deadly trap,
you scream for fun
and laugh with pain,
guilty of the state
you are in, again.
The reflections you have
are hazy and you fight to
recapture the person
everyone sees you to be.
This Bottle my friend.
