Poem Number 15463
Wild Violet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So delicate her petals.
Violet crowned
Stemmed and green
A sweet surprise along this country road,
This route of in-between.
She sits along the blacktop
Nature's bouquet.
From morning through the night,
And only peaceful travelers
Will find her in their sight.
You'd think so innocent a bloom
This violet, wild and frail
Would hide.
And safely there reside instead
Along a country trail.
Commentary:
I always love your poetry. This makes me wish I could walk along that road, and smell those violets! My country roads have many lovely things, but not violets. You gave me a sweet scent of spring in your poem. Thank you.
Superlative comment, Grace. Garb is your exact opposite; in fact 'garb' is a Dis-Grace! - Lowell
