Poem Number 15175
Vagabond

Commentary:
There's a mother in Ohio
who can't sleep at night
She lays in bed, candles burning,
clutching the Bible
and Praying to God.
Her wayward Son stepped
off the straight track
and headed down south
to live.
-------
Mrs. Sell
leaves the candles burning,
hoping the light will
guide him back home
to his childhood
memories.
-------
There's a sister whose afraid
to love the one that
loves her most. Deep within
she knows the
truth of matters,
but she can't
get her heart
to just say
so.
-------
Stephanie
wears her heart
on her sleeve,
and hopes her honesty
won't break
his heart for good.
-------
There's a girl
who feels alone everyday.
She sells herself short
by giving up her body
for attention.
Her need for warmth
forces her to lay down
and sacrifice her one pure thing,
herself.
-------
Michael
comes to get her
when she calls, crying.
He knows her
soul, but can't tell
her his own.
-------
There's this boy from Ohio
whose finally made
it home. There is
nothing left
to prove. In his heart
there is peace that what
he is doing is
what's been
asked of him.
His mother, praying,
left the candles burning,
and her hope
in his light
helped to guide him
home.
