Another Day (revision)

For God’s sake please say
something that makes me
want to read you today.
Your head in the oven just
makes you a copycat
and bottles of vodka
feed your disease. Stop
being so melodramatic,
that gun in your mouth
won’t do the trick this time.

No tamper proof lid
here and when you dialed,
the red and white came,
needles and bags hung
and you were delighted.
Sure, leave me a message.

Please write something
profound and live another
day, clean. An artist you say,
must be troubled, eyes yellowed,
bloodshot, muse wracked,
words lost, life of hunger,
over indulgence,
and you live to write
another day.
