"Lost Somewhere"
i think ive been here before

Commentary:
“Lost Somewhere”
`
Her dull eyes seem caught by
the paint faded wall, she stares
as though absent minded.
Just sitting on the floor
and staring, but maybe
not seeing the wall anymore.
`
She stirs, as her gaze falls
to the paint chipped
skirting board, then to the
empty enamel food plate
on the floor near her knee.
Her hand moves to her knee,
she strokes her leg, her
fingers touching the cruel
manacle holding her shackled
to the leg fixture of a dirty bunk.
`
Slipping into the image in
her mind, she feels the warm
glow of the sun as she dances
through the beautiful flower beds.
Her presence disturbs clouds of
little white moths into the air.
The glorious day fills her being,
uplifting her; she twirls past
a bed of sweet smelling stocks.
`
On reaching the white picket
fence, she pauses to gaze out
at the sparkling blue ocean and
listens to gulls squawking
as they compete over a small fish.
Watching the winner greedily gulp
down its meal, she turns slowly,
sighing deeply……
she drifts into a sound sleep.

Oh, you think you're so hot Audee. You really do.
-------
hahaha, oh so my politeness is aggravating someone, perhaps I should be "rougher" in manner? I guess politeness and manners could come across as sounding a bit "uppity", my apologies to Grumpy and others. :-):-):-)~ audee

Audee, great image laden poem! The beginning reminds me of "The Yellow Wall Paper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and the yellow background on this page helps with that image for me!lol. Anyway great poem.'42'
