Poem Number 14850
*POOR EDDIE*
-----------------
I've known Eddie
For a long long time,
He's a kind hearted person
He would share his last dime.
~
Eddie's always loved sports,
And has always been wild,
He's been that way
Since he was a child.
~
When we were youngsters
Eddie thought he could fly,
I thought he could too
So he gave it a try.
~
When he went straight down
We were really amazed,
He got a little bruising
But was mainly just dazed.
~
One time Eddie climbed
An electrical tower,
He was lucky to survive
Three counties lost power.
~
Locally Eddie was noted
For a baseball game,
But a baseball to the head
Was unwanted acclaim.
~
When Eddie played football
I watched from the stands,
It was terrible to watch
When they stomped on his hands.
~
As a football line man
He fought not to yield,
But was more on a stretcher
Than he was on the field.
~
He played ice hockey
And was mean on the ice,
But I saw him knocked out
I know more than twice.
~
He tried a little soccer
But that was a mistake,
He was four months on crutches
From a very bad break.
