Poem Number 14704
Another Day
For God’s sake please say
something that makes me
want to read you today
your head in the oven just
makes you a copy-cat
and bottles of vodka
feed your disease and
stop being so melodramatic
that gun in your mouth
won’t do the trick this time
Tamper proof lid, even
and when you dial
the red and white,
needles and bags
hang and you delight
sure, leave me a message
Write something profound
live another day, clean
an artist you say, must be
in trouble, eyes of yellow
dripping of blood-tired
muse wracked, words lost
hungry
and you live.

Commentary:
Wow, each stanza has its own intensity and i love the way they end so abruptly.~~T.A.~~

This is great. Again you create stark images...such troubling subject matter as if you speak from sincere experience. I do enjoy reading you poetry. -jeffh

Jeffh & T.A., thanks for your comments! I tried to sneak Sylvia Plath, Kerouac, and Hemmingway into the first stanza and the rest just flowed-out, as 'we' write poetry when we are at our lowest and highest points it seems and I wanted to convey that experience.'42'
