Poem Number 14648
the hope

Commentary:
the hope of every poet
is what mortal man desires
as the moldy inmate knows
what the crucial truth inspirers
-to endure beyond their time
within the edifice of a rhyme

I feel like my poems are falling on deaf ears. I realize that my stuff isnt long and narrative or quite as professional as some of yours, maybe I'm in the wrong place. Maybe some of you are too busy bickering and pontificating to notice. Maybe my poems are just crap! I would simply like to share my efforts with others and perhaps grow a little in the process. This is as close to a "rant" as I get so I'll shut up now.
Thank you -jeffh

Don't let the lack of comments defeat you! Just keep writing--and posting--and reading! Your efforts have promise--so, don't give up! JFC

M.E. makes a very good point.I expect I have more time than many but there is just too much material up here to read. I most often close my own for that reason. We need a faster turn over time I think.I would like to see the post at the top and older ones at the bottom rather than the other way around. I don't know if that is possible what do you all think? I must confess that I havent been around here long enough to justly make the above comments. For that I apologize. It just seems that a lot of time (and space) is wasted abusing others with wit. Wit that could be better channeled into writing and improving. Thank you -jeffh

It was quicker when I first came to the room , but then it was very busy also and the poems were whizzing through at times , so that along with closed poems, caused a complaint that poems weren't up long enough, so Ann changed the setting to holding up more poems, but now it's quieter as the posting has slowed and with more poems still up, it has slowed things down a lot. Maybe everyone is becoming busy with Christmas preparations at the moment and not posting so many poems. +

"to endure beyond their time/within the edifice of rhyme"--how grandly expressed and so true. Save you work and pass it down to kids and grandkids. Write for the joy of writing and you will endure beyond your time. Of course, a few buck is contest winnings doesn't hurt either.lol Jane

jeff-all i can say is keep writing! I really enjoy reading all the poems on this page, though i know i don't comment as much as i should. m.e. is right also, i can usually only read about four or five poems at a time before i have to log off again. Anyway, keep posting and writing as many as you can!

Thanks all! I plan on sticking around a while. I feel like I am leaving a plateau in my writing and rising again. I havent felt that way in a while. The exercise of reading new poetry every day and contributing to interactive poems is very creatively stimulating. -jeffh
