Poem Number 14505
When we were young....
we charmed ourselves brilliant
rendered truth compliant with our definitions
defied all rules void of danger
labeled ourselves rebels
as if we were the first
to ever do so and then we grew
looking back we marvel
at the audacity we displayed
and shake our heads in wonder
at the youth of today
ours was an easier ride

Commentary:
i can definitely relate to the truth of this one...ms

smh, nice poem and i agree it was easier for me, having a sense of purpose and optimism that seems to be less discernable today...fallon

AMEN! my friends & i being in our 20's now look back & sometimes we can't help but shake our heads & wonder if we were ever that bad, whenever we see teens around ... Drm

Being a youngster...(hehe) I definately see the truth in your poem. I am not sure when I all of a sudden became smarter than my mother (even though the reality is so obvious) or when I decided that I had to save the world. But I have faith and hope and I hope one day I don't look back and think, "what was I doing?" Thanks for the insight ~dragonfly~
