Technical Marvel

There it is, tapes and discs, controlling
the melody flowing from the megaphone.
Numerous racks store the music, cataloged
numbered and prescreened. Large smooth
panels dotted with dials and scattered levers,
taking sound and moving it through
wires and transistors, travelling swiftly.

Incapable of thought, machines aid the
man in sending out speech in harmony.
Magnetic resonance bouncing around
A deaf atmosphere, searching randomly
finding a receiving contraption.
Feeling in frequencies, a tune carries
until reaching a listening subject.

Intricate devices keep the rhythm flowing,
Can this machine keep going? Falling
into the next melody my attention wavering.
Let us enjoy the sound of the moment,
And watch ourselves go awry.

I just visited a radio station the other day, what an interesting place...
