Poem Number 12004
She lay there at home
and let out a slight moan
her eyes ever so slightly aflutter
moist lips barely moving
but seemed quite a approving
of what? But one word did she utter.

Another quite far away
had just ended a day
and relaxed in the peace of a shower.
His thoughts drifted round
in the warmth and the sound
of the water, for more than an hour.

His body felt warm
as he slowly got dressed
he picked up his keys
in his pocket they pressed
and feelings beginning to form
from his mind had been torn
which had been guarded and so long repressed

Her body relaxed
the dream long since passed
night hours now peacefully pass
warm covers so snug
embrace her in a hug
till creeping daylight slid though the glass

A knock at the door
brings her feet to the floor
"Just a minute", as she quickly dresses.
The door opens a bit
as she peers through the slit
"I have a package, marked urgent" he stresses.
"Thank you" as she signs
on one of the lines
The "package" was only a letter.
A plane ticket, some money
a postcard, to "Honey"
wrong address must be, she thought better.

She was suddenly smitten
because there was written
a name on the card, and it drew
a small tear from her face
and there it did grace
her with feelings so wonderfully new.

And this did surprise her
the sensations inside her
wiping it away as she pulled back her hair.
Steven, you jerk,
this is all of your work.
Try all that you want. I'll never go there.

But she packed a small case
quickly cleaned up the place
"What could Steven's letter be for?"
Then she picked up her purse
and with a small curse
looked behind and then set out the door.

The glass his cheek presses
and cooly caresses
small patches of fog mark the places.
As the plane comes in sight
his heart soars to that height
and along with her flying it races.

Anxiety grips him
and threatens to rip him
in half, and toss him asunder.
Such a power in that thought
and with him it fought
The jets engines roaring like thunder

But when his senses came to
he stood there and knew
as he saw her arrive through the gate.
That those firey and burning
emotions were churning
by the dictates and mandates of fate.
