Poem Number 11698
Growing on the vine
_______________________________
She with the skin of the silkiest tree
Her leaves spread like pleasure
She couldnt keep her branches off of me
She rubbed her blossoms in my face
They were definately in full bloom
I induced the sap that flowed all over the place
The birds swooped down to pick from her fruit
But stuck to her acorns holding on tight
I was the bark that wasnt to be uprooted that night
She ran rings around my heart
While i, in my lumbering way
nested in her swaying limbs
Where i pine for her cambium depths

I love this... love the images and the humor and the back-and-forthness between the girl and the tree... but that last line... the cambium word... I'm going to have to look that up... so, for me anyway, the whole thing sort of derails on that last word... maybe there's another word...? But other than that, I love this whole poem.
