They are in your neighborhood
In your malls and on your streets
They are in your parks and in your abandoned buildings
They wear black clothing and paint there fingernails
They have tattoos piercings and wear makeup
They rebel articulately against all that is not like them
They focus there idle minds on things they see as dark and gloomy
They enjoy the concepts of pain and death, suicide and killing
They stifle there sexuality by reveling that life is bad and genocide is good
They wear jewelry with logos of historys hate groups
They deplore professionalism in all but the fashion industry
They worship music and musicians who show not a lot of talent
Music that is purposefully unfocused with yelling of scarey sounding words
They respect and honor celebrities who are on drugs and cant verbalize
They like snakes and lizards and spiders and bats and leather boots
They want to play music in front of all the people they think hate them
They want to be on mtv after midnight on saturday night
They want some rich relative to leave them a million dollars
They secretly want the cheerleaders to befriend them
They know if someone cared the right way they would get better
There still mad that friend stoled that cool black shirt from them
They know sooner or later they'll have to kill something to prove there real
They know if everything works out right, there parents will be ashamed
They cant have an intense confrontation without yelling or turning smug
They know Stephen King and Ann Rice really know some big secret stuff
They claim to be really studying the satanic bible and know as much as you!!!
They want you to understand that they arent crazy!!!!!!!
They will if need be demand coffe or soda
They will sleep on the floor if the couch is white or to clean
They will want respect for simply eating peanut butter off a play dagger knife
They know that television shows portray them as fadish and cute
They cant be responsible for what hitler did to the jews, besides its fake
The germans really know some big secrets to about what is true
Cause hitler hated african american athletes and we know the secret
They reside in the homes of family members homes of coworkers
They can save there money cause they dont have social expenses
They often have it given to them so they wont steal from the neighbors
They used to ride there bikes they used to be happier before middle school
They used to want to help around the house untill high school
They used to like school before high school
They used to like sports before high school
She used to like normal boys untill high school
He used to have cleaner friends untill high school
the more demands increase on there specific illness
the more real there illusions become
till the overblown, dispreportionately important, defetes of high school
till the anxiety of a lost self value values everyone less
till we all become suspects in the paranoid drama they create and live in
till the sweet blessed children die like in violent video games for the story
and later its found in a journal scribbled like a comic book by a lunatic
a piece of evidence that in school might make you cool.................................
but if the snobbut if the popular fakes would accept them into the sports, dances, clubs, and the weekend parties nothing would have ever happened; and we could all be people; not freaks, not popular.

the type is common everywhere i've been. i remember them from twenty years ago when i was 17. they've always been here or so history seems to report.
in my lifetime there have been many in my area of the woods, "visible" somewhere in the midst of things. they seem to have very open displays of there lunacy, so it shouldnt be suprising when they pop.......dt

Yup, I agree with dt, This poem is every kid I went to high school with. Except the jocks, of course. And the cheerleaders. And the preps. Oh, how I loathed all three. (Well, until my junior year when I joined varsity softball, varsity cheer squad, and started dressing like a GAP catalogue model. Why? Because I liked doin all that B.S.? NO. Because I wanted to fit in and semi-automatic weapons weren't readably available.) *sigh*

no matter what they were or could have been-- beyond troubled youths--doesn't matter now--there are others in the wings that dt's insightful poem can help us spot & possibly get to & help before they & their victims are just more statistics--& another societal tragedy--window watcher

Well if you go by these descriptions, you'll be picking me out of a crowd soon as I fit a lot of it except the Hitler and Killing crap. The main problem here is that it uses sweeping generalizations to determine the dangerous people. If we all did that we'd be right back into the Nazi days. As we have all seen, not all African Americans are rappers, not all Jewish girls are princesses, and well as for me..... my black wearing, pierced and tatooed self is not about to hurt anyone. I agree with b and ww, that a lot of this is generalizations. I mean, really, does liking snakes, lizards, and leather boots single you out for the insane asylum? Also, the Holocaust was a very much real tragedy, and if it's forgotten it could very easily happen again, so please don't make ridiculous claims about what Hitler did to the Jews being fake!

its one of the things the two boys who did all the killing believed, that the russians built the gas chambers after the war. its not my belief, if you knew the least little thing about reading comprehension you would have seen that. this poem is not an indictment of anyone for anything. its the truth. so you may be somewhat similar to the killers, its not illegal, no ones gonna track you down just cause you look like the killers. no one is making a blanket generalization that claims people like this are anything other than people like this. come on now use your brain. this is a poem which tries to capture the fact that no matter how "not normal" you may think you are or think you look, its old, its been going on forever and you are as predictable as pie. your not original in your fashion or ideas

well anon--i believe the signs are there--some more subtle than others--but there never-the-less----troubled youth do give off signals & parents--friends--& teachers need to watch with awarness instead of pretending problems don't exist--all troubled youth are not going to blow someone away--but they still need help & love in high doses!--there was a 16 year old boy that hung around my shop & i saw troubled signs--i spent time with him & started getting him interested in computers--giving him some direction other than the streets--he is different today because he now has a vision--we all can do something--God puts opportunities before us all to make a difference--far to many turn their backs--i do think a lot of people today don't act because they are overwhelmed with the enormity of problems out there in the world today & they feel powerless--but they are not!-- if 1 or 2 people can spread tons of evil--so can 1 or 2 spread good!--window watcher
