He Is the One
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Commentary:
He who proscribes the thunder,
stays the mighty ocean on the shore,
splits the mountain with His power;
He who gives the birds their song,
frames the wing of butterfly and hawk,
He is the One Who loves me.
-
He who spans the universe with His hand,
causes galaxies to gather,
makes the stars in all their glory,
He who calls the dancing nebulae
and fires the furnace of creation,
He is the One Who loves me.
-
For me He rived the highest heaven,
broke the bond of sin and death,
for me He tasted what was for me intended,
took the sin and left me free.
-
He Who created heaven's splendor,
talks with seraphim and angels,
took the form of slave and sinner,
walked the sordid paths of earth,
died by mortal, sinful malice
that the crown of His creation,
man the mortal, once perfected,
might attain the right once forfeit.
-
He Who lives in the forever,
Who was and is and is to be,
this my God is the One Who loves me.

I LOVE THIS! I would quote a specific line, but they're all fantastic! Any one who has anything close to an intimate relationship with the father can appreciate this. Great word pictures, good beats, most of all great subject. Fitting to occasion of Good Friday -might I add. Excellent.
=rage=

Oh, JFC, this is a tender and magnificent masterpiece of a poem to our loving Heavenly Father. One I wish I had written. Amen. R.J.G.
-------
As poem, well written, and thought out. As factual account, our minds are too puny, in cosmic scale, to fathom any of that as fact or fiction. Can opened--worms hop out! - Jed

Beautiful JFC, thank you!...Fallon

Finally! A poem worthy to be read! Blessed Easter! All the ignorate poems denouncing God,as if his life depended on that instead of theirs! How do you think God stands it JFC? I can hardly stand them, how does he? Window watcher, m.e. and others where are you to praise God this Easter!?
-------
I thought you said your "God" didnt need you? That he doesnt depend on your love? Then he would go on, no matter what you say about him. Oh, and dont expect everyone here to praise your God, some of us arent Christian. I dont mind the poems and comments about God, but I dont like this feeling you (last commentator)create that I should feel rejected because of my beliefs. ~ Zara
-------
Because, anon, God loves them--that is how He can stand them--and us--we forget sometimes that Christ died for all--not just those who believe in Him or profess Him. God is love and love is: kind, does not puff itself up, thinks of others before itself, you know all of I Cor. 13--and He wants us to love them, too! JFC
-------
The fact is that no one on the earth knows for sure if there is a God or not. Some people choose to believe in a God, some people don't. What's the big deal?
-------
Maybe YOU don't know for sure but I do. Don't tell me it's because you can't see him. You can't see air either and never will but you see and feel the consequence of it. Same with God. The big deal of your not believing is that your spirit never dies and will eternally live somewhere, the big deal of your rejecting God won't change his eternal life but it will yours. God is love as JFC states but he is also a jealous God and one of wrath and when next he returns, when the day of his grace has finished he will return in wrath to judge those who have rejected him. Believe it or not. Yes, it is your right.
-------
First of all, you have no idea what I believe. Spirituality is, or at least should be, a personal matter. I can not for the life of me understand why some people insist on cramming their personal beliefs down other people throats. Second, I refuse to use JFC's poem commentary for yet another argument about God. And finally, I think JFC's poem is a wonderful tribute to her God. Happy Easter.
-------
Ummm, I know I commented already on this, but it was a comment about a comment, not the poem. I am sorry, I did not mean for this to become an argument. And yes, I too, think this is a wonderful poem. Full of beautifukl and touching thoughts. So I take this oppurtunity to wish you a happy holiday, no matter what your faith. =] ~ Zara
-------
And, a wonderful easter to all of you! Thank you for all the comments--they provoked thought if nothing else--and that is a good thing! JFC
-------
