Poem Number 10933
I'm so tired of being a virgin
But a virgin is all that I'll ever be
Not because I haven't had offers
I've taken a vow to wait until marriage
But marriage and death as one in the same
Why marry only to divorce a few years later
Like the rest of america today?
And I am incapable of love
which means I'd be marrying purely for sex
Doesn't that make me as cheap as the high school slut I envy now?
Commentary:
Well feel free to add to my predicimate?

P.S. opps I forgot the author part on some of the lines =0)
I've dropped a line here and there on this site before but this is the first time I've ever actually written something (If you can call what I do "writing") so I'm not quite familiar the program =Rage=
-------
When the value of marriage is lost?
Where love is replaced by lust alone?
Who degraded institution of marriage,to just legalised prostitution?
Have we erased the deviding line of animals and men?
Lord, free us from this freedom
Make us know the meaning of sacrifice,
To share weakness with virtues to guide them,
To seek happiness not in parties and novelties,
But to go beyond ourselves to find self in others,
The joy of belonging and the joy of sharing,
Let our better pastures be value based, not cost
Let love be sealed with sacrifice, not perishing flesh,
Let beauty be seen in hearts, and not body.......

With the attitude you have all you do is in vain anyway. What good is a vow kept in resentment? All marriages don't end in divorce, you look thru the eyes of pessimism. Our attitude toward a thing directly effects the outcome. If we believe a thing will work something deep within us strives to make it so. If we believe a thing will fail something deep within us strives toward that failure, maybe so we can convince ourselves we are right. With your attitude go ahead and live it up and don't worry about aids or your reputation anything else because you are half dead already. We are only truely living and happy when we truely believe in our choices and don't waste time regreting them because we believe we making the best decision for us at the time, based on the knowledge we have at the time and if it turns out not to be the best then we treat it as a learning experience for next time. Whinning, and regrets are truely a waste of time and not constructive at all. So make a decision one way or the other, be happy with it or don't do it!

I was just reading over some of your older works, since I have been in and
out of this site. The title caught my attention, I'll admit. Your writing
style is sort of like me when I rant (nothing bad- I DO love to rant)...
I've had the sort of feeling as in this poem several times.
