Poem Number 10887
In the distance,
With the crowd,
Your eyes turn to mine.
Sometimes they stay there,
Unashamed to be watching,
As I take you in.
~
Around you they laugh,
They talk, they tease,
Never noticing your distraction on the side.
How do eyes so honest and calm
Create such chaos inside?
~
Maybe I'm just crazy,
Maybe your glance passes over my head.
But when you raise your hand to wave,
With grace and sincerity in your presence,
I am comforted by
Their twinkle, their gleam, their spark
Commentary:
Wow, I can relate. This has happened to me on several occasions! I loved my partner "at first sight." Attraction, desire, lust, hormones? All a part of it, no doubt, and yet our love has proven itself, surmounting some dreadful obstacles. ~Van

Actually this describes so perfectly what happened to me last night at a restaurant in Toronto it is almost uncanny. I didn't have a chance to meet the person. I never know what to make of these things. ~Van
