Poem Number 10797
Primal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Commentary:
Primal forces surging,
strength to strength opposing,
defy the world!
scream it out!
-
Hatred's tide is rising,
migth is on the tide,
shame and degradation,
gory, bloddy sensation.
-
Dripping, ripping,
turning down,
growling, howling,
coming round.
This was written as an exercise in a creative writing class--write a poem to music--this was written for "Killer of Giants." A little different than from my usual style. JFC
-------
the force of this poem could kill giants all right--like it--if only people could/would channel that kind of force against evil--hunger--poverty--etc--the world's giants--window watcher
-------
i like this one, jfc. - esp. the last stanza has a great rhythm.
and, do you also find that trying out different styles does help
and open new possibilities to your own writing and style? i like
experimenting around, and even though it does not always work as
a poem still it gives me new ideas of how to say things differently,
maybe even more effectively. (rhia)
-------
I agree, rhia, even if you don't continue to use a certain style, you always seem to learn something from the attempt. I find that I'm more comfortable with one style, but that some poems call for a completely different style--and it is good to stretch those creative muscles! JFC
