Poem Number 10657
The lamps glow in the red room,
and velvet curtains guard the house,
where young boys in knickers lay
in front of the fire dreaming.
Could they have had dreams of today?
One of them did and gave us telephones,
another sold "horseless carriages"
while we read by the light of another's genius.
Great things come from someone's dreams,
so dream on and take us into the future.
