Poem Number 10621
in the midst of the tornado--i saw it
rose bush--flowers--twirling--tossing
amid shattered dreams & memory fragments
blood red fragility versus cold gray power
i wept & dared not hope
but in the rubble
beyond doubt's grasp
there it lay--a perfect rose
left on the doorstep of destruction
------window watcher-------
Commentary:
Hey Window watcher! Nice job. Roses are little bit ove done, especially "one perect rose", but here, on the door step of destruction, it does look very nice. Interesting poem! Kudoos. Fred
-------
ok--can you all see my hands shaking?--someone made a comment about people who comment but never post--got to thinking about that--maybe they were right--anyway gave me the courage--please be gentle--:)--i have a small little book that i call my trouble keeper & vision maker--i took this from it--window watcher
-------
fred--tornado represents turmoil--troubles--this is just a "vision" that came to me--so i wrote it in my "vision maker"--maybe is unrealistic but in my visions i love to dream big--WW
-------
No point dreaming if you cant dream big, Windowwatcher. I do it all the time. Fred
-------
window watcher, glad you posted this. having lived in Arkansas and Missouri, i've seen the destruction tornadoes can cause and i'm actually fascinated by them. fragility verses power...i like it. Fred, it actually can happen that most of something is totally destroyed while one small part is left in tact; strange, but true... i also agree with you about the "doorstep of destruction." very nice. justme
-------
well, darn it! where is my "metaphoric" state of mind??? sorry window watcher, i wasn't thinking that way at all... now that i am i would like to add that it's nice to see this side of you... justme
-------
justme--ok & thanks--this has several meanings to me--so why not you?-- with my health problems this also has a spiritual meaning for me--WW
-------
So you watch
and you
hopewaitlift
dreams deny themselves to be read, whisper
sand on the shore on a
prelude to wave breaking hold
fast to the sun to the moon to the
air
And nothing
ressurects rooftops ceilings walls these
ending places where you tread so
delicate soft laughing,
hold up a sky
-blue dawn where the clouds
leave an unfinished thread across
glimmersea lightdancing,
water on water, come
again to the knowledge of
ocean and wave
springwinter rescinds and the
dawn arches night,
breath fogging windowpane to
write words in
fingertip truths,
rounded silence.
I liked your poem. -persephone

WW, your rose is a symbol that hope and beauty persevere, no matter how severe the destruction...beautiful!
-------
I bet you can see it happening in computer image WW. Justme is right, I have seen the most delicate items left in the wake of a storm and rugged torn to shreds. Imagery and symbolism right on the money. Do we get more? FrankR
