Poem Number 10619
Soft dark skies
---İhris
Cloaking breeze stroked trees
---İhris
Crescent candle flickers between branches
---İhris
Life stops momentarily
---İhris
But for the soft brush of a single car passing
---İhris
Gazing skyward
---İhris
This, the only person watchful
---İhris
As all others
---İhris
Let it pass them by
---İhris

Commentary:
Chris, beautiful poem. Not many do stop and take the time to enjoy the beauty that is all around us. They miss out on so much.

Oh.. I have felt that Chris, like the worlds has put on a show and you were the only one that attended!~T

I give up. The British have won.

I love this! Poignant poem beautifully written. I could almost be there. R.J.G.

Yep, anon, and without a Tea Party. Now, maybe the next step is we skip over the city, and enjoy his poetry. Dell

Chris, someone once told me poets have a more sensitive soul.
This is reflected in your poem, "seeing" what others miss.
Very nice. *mf*

Not bloody likely, Dell...

Two days after I wrote this poem, I read two of the most agonising pieces of work I have ever read, namely "KKK"(#10635) and "Life and Death in America"(#10642), if people never stop to "Smell the roses" as it were, then it's obvious what they're looking at instead. Perhaps they are the one's with the open eyes and everyone else is too busy looking at the stars to notice. The Author of "Life and Death in America" is a friend of mine, and I did once meet the person she writes about in her poem, the feeling it induces just can't be described. - İhris
