Poem Number 1035
Between the salt water and the sea strand
I think of the moments we had shared
The glorious moon shines its silver light on the darkness of the water
The ocean roars as if a monster is within its dark recesses
And two silhouettes captured by the light and reflected onto God's sight
seem less than grains of sand in the universal vision
But I discount them not and think of them as cornerstones of my love for life...and of you
Commentary:
btw - "strand" is the Danish (& old nordic) word for : coast
-------
Afrikaans must have borrowed the word from the Danes, because "strand" in Afrikaans means "beach" ... Dan
-------
very interesting Dan - probably due to the fact that Afrikaans is heavily tinted by the Netherland (Holland) language, the stem of wich is nordic/germanic - allan
-------
sorry about that second line...was lacking for inspiration and accidentally entered in... -minuet
-------
I think your line is beautiful - allan
-------
you, my dear allan, are too sweet for words... -minuet
-------
think you stole a heartbeat there, minuet - always has that effect, when a girl wispers in my ear - use it well - allan
