hmmmmm...

today was unpleasant...lol yes, that is a dignified way to put it. first thing, called into the big cheeses office where i was informed my email to a third party, cc:d to a troublesome direct report contained an extended email trail where i described how this management challenge, had "been wrestled to the ground" and he was not "on side and strategically aligned".

ROTF laughing my fucking brains out! the director looked a me with those large eyes and said: "you of all people who is SO careful with email". i apologized, explained the context, and said i would apologize to the staffer and discuss my concerns. he is so pissed with me he insists he will no longer report to me. that would be GREAT!!! he's such an asshole. however, the boss says he must continue to report. i won't be doing his performance review which is good because he won't let me manage him and he goes behind my back to her and she has contributed immensely to this huge mess. i don't care anymore :) the two of them screwed me over so many times, i would relish the opportunity to lay it out all out in front of the HR director.

there comes a point where one simply proceeds. the job gets done.
