Poem Number 10593

May God above,
Send down a dove
With wings as sharp as razors,
To cut the mouths of all bad folks,
Who speak ill against their nieghbours
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Queen Elizabeth, London, England
Commentary:
A prayer of "love" ?
-------
A True Christian sentiment.
-------
A true understanding of the Christian statement.UGH
-------
A true christian wouldn't wish God to send anything hateful to anyone!
-------
You are not very familiar with Christians are you? They like to blow people up, call them names, shun them, all sorta stuff. All in the name of GAWD!
-------
Other way around. JFC said it well a few days back! If God was going to send a razor sharp dove against speaking ill of neighbors, then he needs to send one against all the other things he hates. They are in the bible, look them up.
-------
What the Hell is the matter with all you people lately? This used to be a fun site to come to. How could you expect ALL people to think alike? You can all SHOW respect alike!
-------
Does anyone know where I can find some Humanist hate poetry? I'm looking for some for a term paper that's due tomorrow! Sammie
Interesting that no one except Sammie signed their comment.
THE ONE ABOVE
SENT DOWN SOME LOVE
IN A SON WHO TAUGHT PEACE.
OPEN HEARTED,
ANIMOSITY DEPARTED,
KINDNESS IS FREE.
ENJOY IT! EMPLOY IT!
CAN IT BE? SHALL WE SEE?
ALL HUMAN AND UNIQUE,
BELIEFS
THOUGHTS
WANTS
NEEDS
THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK?
kindness is free...
CAPTALS, please don't shout in Big Letters--not in gibberish, anyway! Free Advice. // sm (siesta man)
-------
CAPITALS=trying to be "heard", GIBBERISH? not really...
-------
kindness IS free, but misunderstandings cost a whole bunch! the trouble is we as humans just don't have this "love thing" all worked out..will we ever? perhaps not here. but someday...I am ever hopeful!!!!!! m.e.
-------
Why is anything even "remotely religious" gibberish as G. said and immediately attacked by those claiming such an "open mind"? I don't have to believe like they do respect their kindness and politeness and caring attitudes. The writer of the "kindness is free" poem above was making a good point and expressed all the afore attitudes I mentioned. You others show little of that respect and do little to futher your points as it is tiresome to read your constant attacks and complaining. If you are so grounded in your own beliefs why would the most trivial of remarks set you off? I am tempted to go their way not because of their pro religious statements but because of you con. FrankR
-------
Well said Frank. I wouldn't call myself a religious person but I sure as heck believe in respecting everyone for who they are. JimT
-------
It wasn't called gibberish, because of religion. There is no religion in it. It was labelled with the "G" word, because the lines made no coherent sense, as a flowing paragraph. To top that, it was "shouted out" in CAPITAL letters. A nickel for anyone who can sum up the whole paragraph in a 6-word line. // sm (siesta man)
sm...how about, Be kind to one another, please. Dell
-------
Thanks Dell! ...that's exactly what I was trying to convey.
-------
If one by one we counted people out
For the least sin, it wouldn't take us long
To get so we had no one left to live with.
For to be social is to be forgiving.
...Robert Frost...
isn't "gibberish" a very small sin?
hasn't forgiving a very big reward?
-------
i enjoy reading poems such as these two here. both are only conveying their thoughts that we are all here together and that we should try living peacfully with one another; i like that. justme
You can't blame me. My 'ex-boyfriend' would recite this pome to me, and I just put it in here. Jennifer R.S.
