Poem Number 23336

Politics Abroad
In Egypt their minds went atwitter
All hearts ran aflutter
A system fell asunder
The world gazed in wonder
World wide Internet
Webbed a despot its net
Can it alsofree US voters
From lobbyist dollars?

Commentary:
I have been away for a few years. I'm glad to see the Website still going strong!

What about webbed a despot in IT's net

You're right, I meant it to be ITS, but having goofed up twice, I wanted to spare everyone a third possible dumb mistake! Thanks.
Ben
P.S: I did a better editing job on my book "Poetic License", as the Publisher, Jones Harvest
Publishing Co., can attest to!

why would Jones Harvest edit or care that anything has an edit in that they make their money off the vanity of poor mooks that think their drivel has merit?
-------
I looked for "mook" in the computer dictionary; there was no such word. If you read the book, you will find that it is at the level of this and other poems I have posted here. If this is drivel, then I'll agree with you. If it not, then get a copy and surprise yourself.
I did not shop the manuscript around traditional publishers, because I wanted a few copies for my friends and relatives. Everyone, including the worst critics, enjoyed many of the poems.

Jones Harvest must not be representing you very well. The only ref. on the net I can find other than several books at Amazon I doubt are yours is a line of funky shoes. I assure you “MOOK” is a legit noun. Just type mook on your browser and you will find it.

Publisher says "Poetic License" book (by Ben Sheldon) is set up as "print on demand". It is registered with the Library of Congress with #ISBN:978-1-60388-3139. It just means you can order it through Amozon.com (or Barnes and Noble), if you decide to forego your Starbucks latte! :)

It's Amazon not Amozon. Sorry for the typo. --Ben

like i said,mook
-------
Mook
Life I forsook
To seek
Meaning of mook
I go look
In every nook
From Arab souk
To any book
I couldn't hook
Nor could cook
A meaning for mook.

Mook- is a word used to insult and/or provoke an alleged jerk into anger. First used by Italian women to describe whats left by a wham-bam-thankyou-maam non-paying john.It was later used by movie writers of mafioso flicks as another way of saying ass-hole......dictated but not well thought out........classic38

Very amusing & enlightening definition. Thanks. -- Ben
