interesting women don't sit
they stand under magnolias
or mango trees, wearing skirts that swing
as they hang birdfeeders
made of bone and ivory.
they know about the products of death.
they are wild and alive.
they leave the house in the afternoon
wearing sandals, curious about sex.
hiding behind chanel sunglasses
caressing the sunset air
with french-manicured nails
and peach-tasting lips
they aren't waiting for your response.
