Poem Number 14596

The Golden Angel
___________
.
A golden angel atop the tree,
guards my equanimity,
.
in days when old memories
haunt times of celebrity,
.
and taunts me with yesteryear,
now so far, yet so near,
.
close enough to step back through
the door of the past's loving view,
.
but the panorama won't materialize,
so I see only through memories' eyes,
.
and look at the angel atop the tree,
symbol of Christmases that used to be.
