Here And There

Glum faces sprouting out of
humdrum clothing with drab colors
remind me of garden weeds

I sprinkle my stuff on them:
a few quips here, a joke there
and watch the face bloom into smile

I also use such weed killers
as asking about their health
how their folks are doing now

They open up like a flower
emitting fresh new fragrance
in touching human stories
