Poem Number 12045

sitting silently i realize i am trapped in this skin i cannot get out of it this body these bones i do not get another chance
to live, really live, free. The guard tells me my days are numbered
with his hidious laugh but i see now this skin, these bones
are my real prision and death with free me, so i laugh back
hoping his anger will speed my release and i can soar
beyond time and space where there are no more chains
upon my body, no breaking my spirit and no dictators
to a place of willing surrender, where no good thing will be withheld.
how many degrees of self pity do I have
degrees of heat and light and light without heat
coldness that tries to own my soul but never will
how many degrees of anger and hate do I have
trying to consume my mind but I will remain vital
and in the end I will win, I will win
for flesh and bone prisions are flimsy at best
and the key is shortly within my grasp.

Commentary:
Good start to a trans-gender poem. Where's the rest? ~ Nye

-------
i put it on this interactive poetry page where people are supposed to add on to one or two lines so someone could add on to it it wasnt meant to be "trans-gender" at all but if that is the way you interprete it then finish it
-------
When I read it I envisioned the war torn countrys with little hope in this world but maintaining diginity in spite of their captors!
-------
your full of cheese
-------
To me it's clearly about a man on death row
and his internal struggle against himself and the world

Ditto Zymoscopebgo and it is good! sm
-------
Damn this IS good! Clearly speaks of one imprisoned unjustly and against their will! J
-------
That was a very good poem!! i could picture it and understand it!

-------
What is the comment "full of cheese" suppose to mean? This is very well done poem with the point that no one can capture our soul, we have to give it! Well done. cindy
-------
Excellant poem it gave me a feeling of closterphobia ~~~~~ or being trapped in ice , maybe frozen in time . When a poem can make you feel this paranoia In my book thats a great poem~~~~~~~~Peacefrog
