Poem Number 23031

Charmeine

Commentary:
I still remember that damp September night,
we walked though the dark passage ways
of catacombs, decaying bodies and lost souls,
that even an undead would not choose to stay.
.
On my way to an ancient home to the cursed,
the shelter I founded for homeless vampires
I meet ghastly beasts, all laden in black attire,
sharing their eerie stories around magical fire.
.
As above, so is below; as below, so is above
we are our masters, creators of heaven or hell,
I felt the wasted energy and hopeless desires
of those who once were angels but tragically fell.
.
We renewed our journey as a full moon appeared,
I found myself starring at her unique splendor
So pallid and radiant, lifeless but visibly alive,
That even the moon to her beauty, surrendered.
.
My eyes are not usually a brilliant shade of gray,
my essence is usually not sudden to speak of love,
I waited for centuries to discover my companion
But never dreamed it would be a being from above.
.
Charmeine was her name; she bashfully glanced at me,
whilst I related old stories of romance lost and despair,
we moved closer and as I loomed to whisper in her ear,
she kissed me slowly to begin our improbable affair.
.
Entirely unexpectedly, I fell in love with an angel,
A prince of darkness falling for a creature of light
It is hard for a vampire to relinquish his freedom
But I gladly gave it away in this improbable night.
.

Nice to see you here "H". I'am glad you decided to post here. How about a poem without vampires? I got nothing against them but I like your other poetry. Friend

last line "this = that"

Definitely, a fine liquid goblet of Hermestri's best. Oh, I fear not the vampire of words. Is he "H" perhaps a little bald headed man of many years and a round tummy who dreams in the halls of darkness? The mystery continues. Stay as you are, Hermestri. I fear you not. I love your words of beauty and darkness and light. Any of words vampirish or heavenly are welcome here.

I notice the looks and innuendo
they all wonder if it's truly me,
yes, my name is Charmeine
I'm the angel that fell in love
with a wonderful being
that happens to be a Vampire
but is my guide and friend.
So mock me if you so desire
you simple don't understand,
that his essence shines so bright,
that for this restless being of light
living in heaven, but without peace
love granted my lonely existence
an unexpected new lease.

Wow, Hermestri, its been years! And it is you! I wrote as your Angel. I really hope you like it. Your advice so long ago help me out so much and even if I don't know you personally, I thank you. Clueless

I am the other of the dark world
from which Hermestri came,
the deamon night of intrigue and terror.
I am the soft mistress
in whom he sank his being.
My blood is in him sustaining him.
When he comes to you, Chareine,
he carries me.
I am more worthy of him than you are,
for I inhabit his world.
Yet, he sees me not.
He rises from our bed
and soars with his longing to you.
That you should boast of being his friend?
How brazen of you.
He has not friends; only those who adore him,
and sink beneath him.
He knows only the art of fascination.
To love him is to writhe as in hell,
to desire him in a consuming blaze of deception.
One never has enough of him, even after just having him.
One never really has him.
It is my destiny to have played with him
in the garden of the devil
when I was but sixteen and a virgin.
And it was my destiny to become his when I was seventeen.
I mock you not, sweet Charmeine.
I pity you.
Such love as his will destroy you.
