Poem Number 22950

Relations

At work I did a job well,
so they promoted me to
Suprvisor of nobodies.
A stranger I did a favor for,
promoted me to 'aquaintance'.
Back to the paid chores, good effort
elevated my nowhere rank,
to going-somewhere position.
Off-duty, the acquaintance
called from jail on DUI.
On bailing him out, I was
granted the title of 'friend'.
My boss was in a terrible fix,
with a deadlin over his head.
I simply told him the little
easy matter he overlooked.
He gave me my own oak desk,
with a highfaluting title;
not because I was a genius,
but 'cuz I saved his little neck.
The 'friend' needed a job, so I helped
him to be the supervisor
of nobodies I was lifted from
He promoted me to 'buddy'.
That's how I became a boss
with a very loyal buddy.

Commentary:
If you are reading this poem, in line 15, 'deadlin' should read 'deadline'. Thank you = Ben
