Poem Number 17428
I was having a problem
with golden forevers
that, in truth, were nothing
but broken peices of yellow glass
sunrise prisms
only effective
when held up to the light.
Commentary:
I'm going to call this "Glass II"
I wrote "Glass I" last spring and called it "blue bottle."
There is no secret message,
mineral water,
or genie in this glass bottle.
There is nothing but
air, dust and light,
and two dead
yellow flowers.
It's surprising
to me that blue bottles
act like prisms
scattering rainbows
on the ceiling.
