Poem Number 7615

Press on, time press on
Refuse to falter in your journey through our lives.
You have a daily list to deliver
to the cosmic timer and score keeper
as to who has to depart from this world
and who stays for further wrinkle treatment
Press on time, press on
Just don't leave me behind
Forever the same in my forever world
To die...to sleep...perchance to Dream
Anything but this neverending sameness
Between the desire and the spasm falls the Shadow
Between the existence and the essence ...falls the Shadow
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts and minds of men...
The Shadow knows
And its driving me insane

Commentary:
As part of my contribution to this poem I mixed in some well known lines from authors like Shakespeare and Eliot. In no way do I take credit for their marvelous work...I just mixed together a couple quotes with some of my own thinking to form some semblance of poetry. Faery

Time is interesting is it not ,Faery? for example it seems like yesterday and forever since I heard thoses words" who know what evil luks in the hearts of men" an old radio favorite...nice poem....jake

jake--sadly I was nevr able to listen to the show...a bit before my time, but that line has a tendency to echo in my mind just the same...I really wish I could hear the show but alas its faded into the past...anyhow, thanx for the compliment--faery
