Poem Number 22992
City At Night
Commentary:
One night I flew over
the City by the Bay;
I mean San Francisco.
She wore a wavy dress
sequined with myriad lights
designed many years ago
by Thomas Edison,
still fashionable today.

I have not been here in years. I hope you like the poem. I wonder why there are no comments except on a few selected poems. We used to have lively discussions, and interactive verse additions, afterall the site is called 'Interactive'. Thank you +-+- Merkel

*Smile* A nice snapshot!! I like your imagery, Merkel!! Yes, I agree, there isn't near the interaction that there was a few years ago--do you remember all those cooperative/interactive poems that were written? They were fun!!

Thank you, JFC. Great to hear from you again. Yes I do remember all those joint-effort poems. We even had someone teaching us about "acrostic" poetry, though I forgot how that went. There was that suicidal poet that we all helped to prevent a tragedy. It was like really an interactive family. Perhaps it will come back +-+- Merkel

You're right -- it was like a family!! I hope you're right about it coming back--that would be great! JFC

Seems to me that it was always a rather dysfunctional family, but I guess that's alright. Mostly everybody that was any good left long ago to pursue whatever they could out of life. Either that, or they found new sites. Some of us have given up on poetry several times, and only do it as a way of graffiti. And a rather small few still grind it out here for some strange reason. As far as the interactive part, I don't know that it every worked right. I'm still awaiting the day when someone or several people prove me wrong.

*smile* Well, we never did any "great" poetry with the interactive bit, but we did get some really interesting poems!! And, it was fun!! Would you be up to contributing if someone started an interactive???? JFC
-------
I already started one, but I'm usually always game, depending on if I feel I can contribute.

Which one????? JFC

It's wonderful to see your postings again, JFC. The discussion makes this site come alive again. Like Mark Twain said: "Reports of my death are highly exaperated!". Now we await your poem = Ben
-------
correction: 'exaperated' should read 'EXAGERATED' = Ben

Okay, I did--I posted a poem!! So--you're next!! *smile* JFC
