Poem Number 22873

The other night you wanted to cry
So you asked if I would hold you
And I did.
Until you said I was smothering you,
So I let you go, saying its okay
You wanted me to let you inside
Let you bask in my warmth, swim in my dark
Because you said it'd feel good
And it did
Until you wanted time to breathe
You want pieces of me that smell nice
And fall softly on your lap with quiet ease
That give you the feeling of something sturdy
Wanting more than half, always less
Than whole
So I fracture, bend, twist apart like so
Knowing what's left for me is enough
To hold on.

Commentary:
This is an amazing use of sensual imagery. The difference between amplification and an ampliative expression, of coupulative sex roles is rare enough. And beautifully done in this case, I wish I could write this.

Very nice image, your words are painted with cool soft strokes. The colors of your words hit home and ring true. Very nicely done))))))Peacefrog
