~ ~ ~ ~ Realization ~ ~ ~ ~
~
Can I not appreciate your beauty without touching?
Can I not know your passions without knowing?
Can I not love you without love returned?
~
I can, for you are a wonder of nature
Better not sought, but come upon by chance.
And you move me like the wind.
I know your sound, your touch,
your taste, your feel and your smell.
~
Yet, I experience you only in the way the blind see.
And you, beautiful friend, will never know
how longingly I have looked upon you.

Add another voice to say good to see you back, Nightrider! Beautiful poem that is worth repeated reads. I think love that is not expressed is a shame, though, because there is little chance we will be loved back. I think it is better to express our love and take our chances that it will be returned. Thanks for posting a thought-provoker, which reminds me of times I have loved and never expressed it, and wondered what would have happened if I had been braver.
-------

Thanks all. Good to be here and see you all again. Perhaps one day I may even write something original, good enough to parallel much of the work I see in here today. Thanks again.

Is that what you were doing while you were away, Nightrider? Falling in love? A passenger? ~~Incurably Romantic Poet

No, but I have had some pretty interesting net conversations with a lady I met in Ebay auctions..lol.
Anyway, that poem is at least 30 years old. I found it when I was working at a radio station in Florida and always kept it. Don't ask me why. I just liked it. ~nr
