Poem Number 13076

I don't know how to touch a star
and don't know how to fly
can't reach for things that are too far
or hope for things too high
~
I cannot mend a shattered heart
for my hands are much too weak.
Though we are so far apart
You are still the star I seek.
~
A Singing Siren, song of starshine
beckons forth a fragile hand
and lured, lingers on that line
longing fingers, starlit land.
Sparkle dust from meteors
I collect throughout the night.
This is what I keep of yours,
Held to heart, treasured sight.
~
Oh, to be a shooting star!
and light the night up, with it's burning
and join a celestial dance afar
like son's dawn or world turning.
~
Maybe I can't touch a star
And wings, I'll never own
Hope glitters where you are
You shall never be alone.
~
On you, bright star, I'll make a wish
and thank you for this chance
to blow to you a goodnight kiss
and thank you for this dance

Me too, even with the missteps.
Maybe we can do a slow dance next time :)
