Poem Number 891

dust

Commentary:
i met you once - then twice again
a familiar turn of face and phrase
i asked myself to cross the street
and yet, again we chance to meet.
-
seeing clearly a new incarnation
a haunting reminder the truth prevails
no where to hide except in plain sight
intimacy denied is another's delight
-
to hope any shoe would fill the place
at home alone or with others i wait
a day devoid of artifact thoughts
punishing me for what i did, or did not
