Poem Number 23153

lost!

Commentary:
i'm facing with equanamity
the dangers of anonymity
you see, i've lost a poem i'd written
and 'tho it was nothing with which to be smitten
i'd like it back.
i wrote it from some deep well of pain
(teenage angst is a poet's bane)
so, 'tho it should have caused no shame
i didn't dare to sign my name
but now, i'd like it back.
i don't remember enough to rewrite it
i wish that i could glibly recite it
i wouldn't repost after so many years
(after all, why dwell on old tears?)
it's just that- i'd like it back.

I love a well rhymed poem, and this is one - Tom

Multi-syllabic matching begins to line up the tonal qualities of paired lines. Repetition of similar vowels in the stressed syllables of successive words is called assonance. These very nice rhymes go beyond rhyming and are assonant. ~Cooker
