Poem Number 23131

Charmeine's salvation

Commentary:
I remember well that fateful Christmas Tuesday
with thoughts of regret, sorrow and melancholy.
A fool, I wanted to impress you with fancy foolery
And all you asked for was for me to sing happily.
.
A bouquet of roses?, no, just one, the only of its kind
a sign of unique love, united, one soul and one mind,
no gift greater than a glance from your eyes into mine,
no need for celestial music or red wine to feel divine.
.
But in this life there is never joy without intense pain
you left early, even as I begged you to stay in vain,
lost in anguish, I called you name in desperation
but destiny reminded me that life in this plane is faint.
.
I temporarily became insane as I ran to get a glance
but it was the last straw, I could not believe what I saw,
You were lifeless as I dropped and prayed for a chance
to revive, on earth, heaven or hell, our true romance.
.
My eyes and spirit weep engulfed in quiet desperation,
destiny had taken you from me without explanation,
but my soul knew that my love for you was my salvation
and as a being of light, you had achieved beatification.
.
I was condemned to live without your affections
Perhaps your body is no more, but our love is alive,
Charmeine, on the third day of Mithras' celebrations
we are still together, united, one soul and one mind.
.

Now that I am empty and lonely.
I remember you my eternal farewell
I remember I cried when I knew that I lost you
And remember to send you these flowers you wanted
But our story does not end there
I feel your presence near here,
Your soul came back to the world
Making my destiny turn again.
Knowing that your flesh has died
you choose to stay within my body,
Since then I look different at people
Nobody knows what's going through my mind.
Perhaps you died, but our love is still present.
Who would think, that behind so much pain
the biggest love story ever told lives:
The two, you and I , beyond death
My body is yours too, one flesh, one mind
Our love will not be absent
And although against the laws of reason
We live the story of two souls
That share one heart.

Ah Hermestri. I am afraid to comment, lest I scare you off. A couple of us clearly said we loved your vampire poems (and many seem to be offended by them) and for months you did not appear here. In the two above poems, you have left some of the vampire magic and turned to love. Very beautiful. Always a great poet, Hermestri. We your fans, salute you.

Thanks, SG, I wrote the second poem. I too love Hermestri. I had not posted in ages and dropped by and saw him and decided to contribute. Hope it was good enough, H?

By the way, I am xoxo2

xoxo2-your poem is beautiful. I don't think Hermestri cares to make people feel warm and good. He never responds and he disappears at the slightest provocation or flattery. I do not know Hermestri. I like his poems. Then, perhaps, it would not be hitting below the belt to say that he is a bit intense?

xoxo2, why would you tread on another's poem?
-------
maybe xoxo2 is Charmeine's ghost

sg, long time ago, he was kind to me. I believe he is an old, wise soul. That is why I drop back from time to time, hoping to glace his magic.
Anon, the poem spoke to me and I just replied. I don't think "H" would mind.

HERMESTRI DOEs not answer. I don't think he cares one way or another. I don't think he visits this site on a regular basis. I am beginning to be a little annoyed with his lack of response. There are other equally good poets, willing to share like you, x0x02. You sure fooled me. I thought you were Hermestri. How about just being you and sharing more of your excellent poetry. Isn't that what this site is about-sharing? Hermestri seems only to want to showcase.

Xoxo2, nice to see you here, kiddie. I keeped up with your life and it pleases me that you been so successful. I am proud of you. I loved your poem, btw.
SG, I don't mean not to reply. I am just not around the web much. I have enjoyed your input on my poetry for a long time and I thank you. I only post when I am visiting a city like today but it doesn't happen that often. I also need to have a computer for few hours because I usually write just before posting. I agree with you that there is great poetry in this site and newcomers could enjoy the work of Fallon, "a" and others. 'H'

Hermestri:
Kindness always makes me a little crazy. At least that's what I was told once. Your genuine greatness of spirit has attracted me for many years. I recall the most wonderful you and Audee and Fallon enriched our spirits so very much with your magnificent writing. I could not understand the meanness of some of the anons, who could not appreciate your vampire poems. You and your poems are a mystery that delights and intriques. Thank you for answering and please, more wonderful poems.
