Poem Number 23120

cloudy skies tarnish
horizons. everything is hazy and grey
and the baby is asleep and i'm lonely.
a dreamy giggle
like a great bright balloon
breaks the horizon like bright noon.
the dawn of winter
unfolds like a pair
of mismatched socks, argyle
and grey stripes. everything is
beginning to glow and
it's all quite surprising.
his felt slippers, orange
turning gold in the sunrise,
have already been filled and emptied.
the morning paper
refolded and stacked on the table
like the thousand oragami cranes
of sisyphus, the end and beginning
of the news, read once and
waiting to be read again.
his towel on the tile floor
is drying. when he said goodbye
i know he was lying.
that simply pushes their button

Commentary:
edit: "has been read once and waits"

Not bad at all. Lots of good imagery. I like especially the socks and the dawn of winter, his slippers have been filled and emptied, very good, lots of lonely in this poem.
