Poem Number 1189

I woke up this morning
With the sun shinning through the window
It came as something of a surprise,
When a very large truck
Thundered past noisily
spewing smoke, and dust and filth and bedraggled ladies of indeterminate age.
O wisdom O sage
Would I ever turn the page?
I woke up this morning
to raindrops afalling on the pane
alas there was little surprise
all the dust from yesterday
has turned into tomorrow's recommencement
