Poem Number 23341
Memorial to Politicians' Folly
In back rooms with selfish missions
Sit all those politicians
They lack a global vision
While on assigned commission
To make momentous decisions
Far from any precision
On word populations
With no contemplation
About each situation
Leading to war we take a stand
On people we don't understand
Whether in Afghanistan
Iraq or Pakistan
Still our leaders demand
Killings on command
Deep deep inside their land
Best youth are trained to hate
Then sent to devastate
Humans of a far state
So that politicians fate
Is not the exit gate
So they can salute body bags
Then go out and loudly brag
As draped coffins lay
On Memorial Day!
