to be anonymous
behind a desk,
make your file and file it.
don't bother painting
chrysanthemums.
don't even notice
the lark.
i got an unexpected bill today
and yesterday i found out
that my contract will not be renewed.
i will not be
anonymous though.
i will split open a melon
with a stainless steel cleaver
and throw you a picnic
with banners and bubbles
and pink lemonade.
you don't need
my advice
to be outstanding
but i need
you to remind me
to stop talking
about work.
God don't you envy virtual reality!
