hi!
i've submitted a few poems in this salon, and would certainly like to thank you for this whole thing; it's a godsend! reading, writing and discussing poetry - (my god, the phone bill!)
perhaps I'm to new at this internet stuff, but it seems that each time I want to comment, or add a line, I must first reopen the entire page in order to get back to the salon. Am I doing something wrong?
Jumping between salons involves reopening too. It all takes so long.Anything I could do to speed things up?
While I'm on this - don't you think it would be great to be able to submit sound files, so that the "viewers" could actually download the author reading his/her own poetry. Is this still just a pipe dream?
Perhaps you could also somehow "feature" a poet.
Maybe what I'm aiming at is some kind of a poetry chat line, I don't know.
Anyway, thank you so much for your vision, your effort and the way in which you have touched so many people in doing this!

Thank you! I seldom allow my work to be seen but being able to have some fun with adding lines, and being able to work anonymously, allows me to peek out of my shell a little bit. Thanks for a great site! --Spectator

dear ms. cantelow..
more than a million thanks..
have you ever given thought to the inadequacy with which we must deal in order to communicate comments, without missing dinner, the news, our lives..is there a plan for a, one hates to mention it.."chat" type of line? you know, some way in which we could get through to each other...quicker...(poetry meets real life)..perhaps a separate page for commentary alone....what abut culling stuff to make a "best of" page, or even hard copying pieces..
keep up your excellent work..

Ann: I've been away from the pages during the summer
and on returning have noticed that certain salons
are overflowing. Though I hate to say it some
pages may require pruning.

Thank you for this wonderful sight. I've had the pleasure of meeting many new people here. Some have even gone on to become good friends via e-mail.

I thoroughly enjoy this site, and have come across some work of a very high standard indeed. Of course there are a few spoilers and jokers, but all-in-all it is a friendly and encouraging place to visit. My digital surfboard always seems to land me here! And, as far as my battered ego is concerned, it does feel good to get some positive reaction to my poems, such as they are. May you live long and prosper!

Well, I'm a newcomer, but this site is really increddible! I love reading other people's poetry, as well as contributing my own. It's interesting to see how many different ideas can be presented. Thanks for the good work.

I visited this site about a 3 weeks or so ago, and even added some poetry, however, nothing seems to change! I finally closed my poems, hoping others would do the same, but so far, no soap. No one has even added anything to the comments section. Does no one visit here anymore?

We seem to be brimming with artists; consequently as a way of culling out the old some work is closed the day after it is posted. (1)how do we open a sixth salon for solo work? (2) how about dating poetry and agreeing on a time limit for public display and comment?

Ann,
I love this place it has really helped my confidence in writing and the people I have met are so so gifted. I have to admit that I feel a little embaressed though, the one time I do come here is with a couple of questions. Lately, poems are closing within 24-48hrs after the author submits them. Also, is there a way that a search on closed poems can be done by title, poem #, or date entered. I have read some work that just takes my breath away, only not to be able to find it because I could not remember the authors pen name.
I do thank you for you time and your web-sight. It has not only been good for my creativity but, surprisingly, a little bit of healing of the heart as well.
Thank you.

I think this site is as great to the poet as the radio is to the musician. Some of the comments are less than tasteful and sink far below constuctive critisism, but I do understand that there are rude people everywhere, and may some of them learn to care enough about others to show them courtesy. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

seems like there is a lot of flak around. i would just like you to know that these pages are an amazing concept which at least 90% of the time work perfectly. the other ten are down to human nature. thank you for giving me the opportunity to interact with other writers - this is my favourite site and i spend far too much time on it...jax

Dear Ms. Cantelow,
I think this is great that you have something like this on the web. It is a place to find inspiration or hopefully give some. I have a poem I would like submit.
I just want to be free,
from the memories of pain.
I just want to forget,
the torment I've seen.
I want to lay all night with you,
in the garden of your dreams,
wash my soul with your morning dew.
And I just want to know,
if you'll remember me,
when I've faded from your view.
I just want to be free,
from the chains that held me in,
the clutches of captivity,
so I may chase your love.
But I just want to know
if you'll remember me
when I've faded from your view.
Well I'd hate to bring you down,
only to have you drown,
from the sadness in my heart,
though I need your love to start,
on my journey down
an ocean named blue,
but if you can't love me now, (that's ok)
I just wanna know
if you'll remember me
when I've faded from your view.

I've been posting here for a long time now. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the people, their work and their commentaries. This is the only destination I visit daily. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of a great community!
